The 25th week of Kenyan Premier League (KPL) action is scheduled to run from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 September and a total of eight players will not be eligible to feature for their clubs in matches across the nation.
KCB, who are scheduled to play AFC Leopards at the Mumias Sports Complex on Saturday 20 September, are the hardest hit as they will have to do without two key defenders – right back Bethuel Warambo and center back Mark Odhiambo who is on loan from Tusker. The two got their fifth yellow cards of the season in the win over Ulinzi Stars in their last match, earning them the suspension.
Thika United will have to do without the services of their skipper Dennis Odhiambo when they host Mathare United on Sunday 21 September. The defender is serving time out after being sent off in the clash against Muhoroni Youth the last time out.
Another skipper ruled out of the week’s action is Ulinzi Stars’ Stephen Ocholla who was sent off in the match against Gor Mahia and he will thus miss the Nakuru derby, pitting his side against Top Fry AllStars on Sunday 21 September.
Mathare United’s Daniel Mwaura will also miss the week’s action when his team plays Thika United on Sunday 21 September after being sent off in the match against KRA while KRA’s George Mwangi will be locked out when his team plays Sony Sugar on Friday as he is on five yellow cards.
The match pitting Bandari at home to Western Stima on Saturday 20 September will see both teams miss key players with Bandari keeper Wilson Obungu out after being sent off against Sony Sugar the last time out while Western Stima’s Hudson Muhako is on five yellow cards.
